At Beach House Chiropractic we understand the pressures that pregnancy places upon the mother both in a physical and emotional sense. Our principle Chiropractor, Dr Alexandra Elphick has had two safe and healthy births, supported throughout by Chiropractic care. Expecting and new mothers often choose Chiropractic to support their medical care. Chiropractic care is considered to be a safe and effective support for pregnancy.
The mother’s spine and pelvis undergoes many changes and adaptations to compensate for the growing baby. Specific chiropractic care throughout pregnancy works to help minimise the symptoms of pain often associated with posture changes.
There are various types of chiropractic adjustment that are effective, gentle and very safe for pregnant mothers. Whilst each mother presents with her own unique needs, the goal of our chiropractic care is always to provide as comfortable pregnancy and labour as possible.
Specific techniques tailored to pregnant mothers create balance in the mother’s pelvic bones and therefore reduce the possibility of intrauterine constraint. Offering the baby the ability to get into the best possible position for birth leads to an easier and safer delivery for both the mother and baby. Supported by postural exercise and well-being advice, seeking chiropractic care throughout in pregnancy is considered a safe, effective way to support the natural process of birthing.
We always recommend speaking with your GP & Midwife before seeking Chiropractic advice.
