If you have health insurance, the chances are you’ll be covered for a certain amount of Chiropractic care. The process of claiming from your insurance company is normally straight forward, particularly if you have a ‘cash plan’.
Apart from BUPA you don’t normally require a referral from your GP or prior approval from the insurance provider. Payment for treatment is made directly to us for your chiropractic care. We provide a printed or email receipt that states the registration and full details of your Chiropractor and the treatment details which you send to your insurance provider.
Although we offer pre-paid discount plans of care, the insurance company will normally only pay once a treatment has been provided i.e. they pay retrospectively. If you take out a care plan with us, you still receive the same discount and can choose to send your receipts individually or as a course block after you’ve had the last treatment on the course.
The process for BUPA is a little more involved. Firstly BUPA clients require a GP referral and then require an authorisation number from BUPA membership services. With your membership number and authorisation code to hand we can then make an appointment for you at our clinic. After each treatment or treatment course we invoice BUPA directly meaning that there is no cost to you as our patient. BUPA clients can book in with Dr Aleaxandra Elphick or Dr Yulia Howe who are both part of the BUPA provider network. Please be aware that BUPA will only pay for a fixed number of treatment visits as per the terms and conditions of your policy.
Our Clinic Director Dave Elphick looks after all administration regarding insurance and is available at the clinic should you have any concerns or questions.
