A Specialist Non-surgical Treatment for bulging or herniated spinal discs and nerve pain.
Is IDD a surgery-free, disc treatment option for you? Find out with our FREE telephone consultation and for a strictly limited time, FREE Spinal Examination.
Many back pain and neck pain conditions can be resolved with manual therapy such as Chiropractic, Physio, Sports Massage and Corrective exercise. However, if the pain and discomfort persists and particularly if disc problems are diagnosed, the only other options have been invasive and often expensive spinal surgery, injections or ongoing medication. Thanks to recent advances in non-invasive technologies there is now an effective and safe alternative – IDD Spinal Decompression.
At Beach House Chiropractic in Worthing, we are delighted to offer IDD Therapy Spinal Decompression, which forms as part of an advanced programme of recovery and spinal strengthening.
Very professional from first consultation and through my course of treatment. Very personable staff and would definitely recommend. Darren R. December 2023

What is IDD Therapy?
IDD Therapy is the specialist non-surgical spinal decompression treatment which relieves pressure on targeted spinal discs and gently restores mobility in the affected area. IDD stands for Intervetebral Differential Dynamics.
Our Accu-SPINA machine which delivers IDD Therapy, is the gold standard in spinal decompression treatment. Patients lie on the Accu-SPINA table. For comfort and safety the table goes from a vertical position to horizontal. Using a system of ergonomic harnesses, the patient is connected to the machine, fully clothed and comfortable.
IDD Therapy is computer controlled and a personal treatment programme is set using your specific algorithms. Whilst you relax, a series of controlled pulling forces are then gently applied at precisely measured angles to decompress and mobilise the targeted spinal segment. In the lower back this is most commonly the L5/S1 or L4/L5 levels and in the neck C5/C6. Treatment is suitable for the lower back or neck, it is not used to treat the thoracic (mid) spine.
Patients are on the Accu SPINA machine for 26 minutes.
By decompressing (taking pressure off) an injured or bulging/ herniated disc and gently stretching the soft tissues, we can improve mobility in the spine and allow the body’s own natural healing mechanisms to operate more efficiently. The goal is to work stiff ligaments and tight muscles, help the body to retract a disc bulge and to help restore what we refer to as ‘the disc pump’.
